Prototype Cafe. Prototype Cafe gives their customers the opportunity to reduce rapid prototyping service costs by prepurchasing blocks of hours on a rapid prototyping machine.

Unlike purchasing fractional ownership of a machine, thier plan limits long term liability while locking in all costs. All Labor, Maintenance, Real Estate, Utilities, Administrative, and other costs are already built in and locked in. The only other cost is materials, which are locked at current list price.

Our business model provides usage of high end Rapid Prototyping systems at a fraction of the cost of a low end system. Why purchase an inferior low end RP machine when you can purchase usage on a high end system.

Which of the 2 parts below is more useful to you?


        
Part on left: built on our system in less than 1 hour.     
Part on right: built in ABS on an extrusion based system at .005" layers in a several hours.

Unlike fractional ownership, our plan is fractional usage. While this may sound similar, there are distinctive differences. All of our administrative, labor, maintenance, and overhead costs are built in and therefor locked in. The only variables, once you commit to a program, are the model and support material at current manufacturers list price, shipping, and any auxillary services such as painting, plating, casting, or vacuum forming.

Usage is based on specific machine classifications. Currently, the Objet Alaris with single material, VeroWhite, is our product offering. The Objet Connex with 7 different materials, material blending, and overmolding capability will be added later in
